CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION

A. Background of the Study

Atheism is not all that bad in the contrary, many people have achieve something, not because their religious or they have strong belief in god, but simply because they work hard on it, because they believe that they can do it just like this people “Richard Dawkins” he is an English ethologist, evolutionary biologist and author.

He has won countless awards and regularly lectures around the world. He widely accredits Charles Darwin as having a profound influence on his life and work, commenting in an interview with The National Geographic Channel Online that Darwin was “the founder of really everything that I do…whereas some people make a discovery and they stumble upon it, Darwin devoted himself to making his theory clear, to listing all the evidence and spending decades of his life gathering the evidence so no one could doubt it.”(http://natgeotv.com/uk/dawkins-darwin-evolution/dawkins-biography)

This goes to show that even if you are an atheist you can do good deeds, not because you just don’t believe in god, you can’t do anything right, RIGHT? This people have achieved some awards because of their research and hard work, making it to the top but still some people always question their actions.

What good will it brings to the society? Well to put it in simpler terms people like them can make some difference in the world, not all religious people commit into something that doesn’t involve their god or something like that, and therefore atheist excels more in the department of innovating our world, I’m not bias just because I myself is an atheist, but let’s face it people like them are the best for this kind of job because they are logical In thinking and they don’t use fiction in deducting they use facts and hard proof evidence in doing their research they don’t rely on a make believe non existing man.

This research paper focuses on the Good Effect of Atheism in the Society.

why do people become an atheist

Hobbies are some things that people are fond in doing, they are the things that makes our lives exciting. Some collect stamps or maybe your in to collecting weird stuff, that other people may think that your so different. hobbies differ from one person to the other, maybe its because we have different view in life or we simply do it without noticing it.

So we go to my topic: why people become an atheist it is not because of a family problem or rebellion for me i become an atheist because i love reading encyclopedia and watching discover, national geographic channel, while i read my books i suddenly noticed that we have more things that has no explanation what so ever. so i become skeptic in everything how did things work and how did man evolve, this is the time people looked at me and said are you a satanist, then i was "WHAT" is it bad to like me that doesn't believe in the bible, is it wrong?

I became furious about the way people see me so i decided to look at some post and websites and i stumbled upon on a website on "WhyDoPeopleBecomeAtheists this are people that hate atheist and i don't really know why. Is it because they are more superior?or because they believe in a higher being? that's such a stereotypical-way of thinking most religious people tend to to more damage than atheist, people should never detest atheism because we never question their belief in life, we never tell them to be like us, where just more logical in a way that they cant understand us, they are people that consider themselves above others.

Its hurts to say this but the fact is, many people are like this, always thinks that they are always right, for this kind people looked at the mirror before judging others, before you point your finger and say we are wrong, before you forget that you are also a person that can be accused at nevertheless by those people like you.

Atheism, misinterpreted as a religion

Misinterpreted meaning to mislead, explain, or understand incorrectly, this is a word that is popular in relationships and in any occasion for that matter, misunderstood also a word that has a strong influence in society specially when one wants to explain something but for some reason  rejected because of  the way people think or the way they approach it.

So this is the question why to people misinterpret atheism as a religion, maybe because if you don't believe in God your automatically wrong or your a evil person, that's a stereotypical  way of thinking first of all atheism is not a religion, i repeat NOT a religion and second we are not satanist, we don't offer a goat or anything to sacrifice we are people that believe in realism or to put it in a simpler form we express what we know and feel, we advocate the voice of truth, atheism is the rejection of belief in deities, skeptical in a way that we want to find the truth behind the things that people see and belief, we respect the decision of other people about what they believe in but when i say " i am a atheist " people respond in an ill manner way, that is so annoying that i want to tell them whats wrong in being an atheist i am just being myself nothing more, in the article by "Keith M. Parsons" she stated that "Atheism has long been the target of hostility. In the Laws, Plato recommended various degrees of punishment for atheists." and she stated seven misconception about atheism  in her article misconceptions this are:
1) Atheism implies that life is absurd or meaningless.
2) Atheists, since they lack a conception of heaven or hell, have no motivation to be good.
3) Atheism is the claim that no gods exist. Atheism therefore must prove a negative, but it is impossible to prove a negative. Therefore, atheism is an impossible doctrine.

The above statement is so wrong we live our life as normal and non threat to society we just see things differently that's why people think that we are evil or something, even though we don't believe in heaven and hell,we are good! almost all atheist are in a pursuit in making our world better, what can you expect in a society that is blinded by false truth, what they want to hear is what they believe in, we don't believe in God simply because we believe in the fact that we came from apes and not in a book, facts vs fiction, they say bad-things about atheist what about a question: what if  we ask why did God exist in the first place, did God really exist what would the society answer?  they will just ignore you or they will argue with you, they will persuade you that they are right and you are wrong, for me God is like a placebo effect you think that he exist but in reality it is just your imagination that made you think and feel the present of the God, the brain is a powerful tool that's why people invented and created things anything is possible if you set your mind to it.

So i say this to you people, atheism is not a religion we are simply a group of people that seeks the truth we are neutral,we live our life with purpose, so don't judge us by our way of thinking because we never judge anyone for what they are, we just simply think differently.
